Like 20-year retired Army vet “bigwill82,” NOLA FLIGHT does Veterans Day bigger and better than most. While NOLA FLIGHT was rolling out this year’s Veterans Day merch and preparing social graphics, Will was preparing his fundraiser stream (for an audience of nearly 1,000 Twitch followers) in support of the Wounded Warrior Project.
By November 8th, Will was sporting a military-green hoodie with a star-spangled NF. As he puts it, he and NOLA FLIGHT are like “peas and carrots, Jenny and Forrest.”
With NF’s help, Will doubled the funds he raised last year for the WWP nonprofit charity, which assists wounded veterans in civilian life. On the flip side, and with Will’s help, NOLA FLIGHT’s stream team will improve and grow as a unit. The team’s new Lead Content Creator also foresees a community Apex tournament.
“I’ve always been a gamer,” since the days of Atari’s Combat to today’s Apex Legends. At 40 years old, Will looks at himself amongst his younger streaming peers; signed to an org as reputable as NF, he concludes, “Hey, getting old must be nice!”
The military and gaming veteran’s advice? “Keep pushing, keep moving.”
