Answers to Danielzklein's WR question list.

These are answers to a series of questions Danielzklein sent me yesterday on Tweeterz about Wild Rift.

1. No support quests as far as I can tell? Assume the hope is that modern supports have enough stuff to do in lane without them?

Correct, no support quests. It's always been more of an $$ issue than one of lacking activities. On PC, what you need to achieve a stable meta is lower their gold early (buying an inefficient item), bounce it back mid game (quest complete), before dropping it back late game (fairly poor slot efficiency). That timeframe is so compressed on wild rift it doesn't make sense to replicate it when the laning phase in its entirety is < 5 minutes. We just baked in a better version of the gold sharing model into the core econ and it's largely solved.

2. Master Yi felt butter smooth. I sense some attack range extension on enemies moving out of your attack range beyond what the base game does?

Same basic technique as on PC. If you start the attack it will always complete regardless of range to target!

3. There's a lot of incredibly smart auto selection stuff going on. If I don't click on an enemy champion and there's multiple in range, will alpha strike target lowest enemy health?

Prob can't go into the whole thing, but yeah there's a lot of behind the scenes logic to assist in the best auto target option - the basics though are in your settings menu you can choose lowest % health or proximity as the basics. This can ofc be overrided by 'hard selecting' a target though from either Portrait lock feature or by manually aiming a different target.

4. I was shocked how well blitzcrank played. Like I refused to aim any of my skill shots and still was super successful just going by timing and relative position. There some magic going on here I'm sure!

A bit yes, but less than you might think. Some of that is achieved through natural mastery and play. Learning when and where to use the auto-targeting is critical to success as it's so much faster. Being in the proper position and knowing what ranges and angles to use it vs aimed is critical.

5. Finally the store--i didn't mind that I couldn't dive as deeply as I wanted to (like sort defense items by armor) but it could do with some more smarts? It suggested abyssal visage with no magic damage on either team

No smart logic on the store's recommended. We try to make it easy to grab outside builds and set your own pages. While the Shop UX update on PC is sweet, it's so much fucking work tbh lol and we didn't want to delay the game for a feature like that. I'm sure we'll get to it eventually but the backlog of things we want is hhhuuuggeeee atm.
