Dear Kobe

Dear Kobe,
We miss you homie. We've been through a lot in the last year since you left with the crew to go kick it with Uncle Chick Hearn and all the homies in the kingdom. Man we've experienced a lot of things but we are still holding on strong, keeping your legacy going.

The Lakers won a championship this year, so did the Dodgers, the Rams came close but ultimately I think Tom Brady will do that work next month. That Coronavirus thing they were talking about last year became a hot mess and our world was changed in many ways, but we're carrying on, fighting the good fight and hoping to somehow get better and do better. Yeah, we couldn't see the Lakers play at Staples because of the Coronavirus, we had to stay home or ever get sick and God forbid peace out soon.

Donald T**** is no longer the President, Joe Biden is, just like you, we are watching a Philly dude run the court (in this case our country). Yeah, I know politics. A lot of stuff happened, I could write a whole but one things for sure, I'll never forget those I saw you. You prolly never me, or maybe you did and I was a distant figment of your imagination, either it was the 2002 NBA Championship Rally, or that Sparks game at the Forum in 98, or that Game against Toronto in 2007, or 2011, or even when my boss at work hooked me up with tickets to see your last game in 2016...or that one time when I thought, gee wouldn't it be so dope to end 2019 and ring in 2020 by going to a Laker game, and you and Gigi were there...man what a trip.

Anyway, I could say a lot but man one thing is for sure, we miss you mamba. I'll never forget watching you on KCAL or Channel's 4, 7 or whatever, and dreaming of being like you when I was in the 8th grade wearing #24 playing for the Lakers as part of the Queen Anne Park Junior League in Midtown...I wonder if my momma still has pictures of that time. But man, Kobe, we miss you bro and we will keep on doing it big for you.

Love,
Med.

PS: I'll never forget that game against the Suns in 06. The day I forgave you for beefing with my man Shaq and began to love you more when you finally brought the Lakers more titles and continued to inspire us. I love you man.
