From planet Earth but upon a different timeline, in ancient civilization, there was a group of nomads known as the Rah'ka. They traveled far miles, trading but more importantly, sharing their vast knowledge of the world and the brilliance it held. These people, although not overly religious, did believe in gods and otherworldly beings. One such type of being is what is more commonly known as a djinn, or a genie.
There were many kinds of djinn with all sorts of personalities and powers. One of such djinn, if not one of the lesser known but still important all the same was the fire djinn known as Anubis. Aiding the Rah'ka as to ways to avoid the blistering heat of the sun during their travels, Anubis was known as a rather kind and generous djinn. However, she was also a rather quiet and secluded djinn that often stayed within the confines of a metal vessel that took the form of a chain scythe, otherwise known as a kusarigama. Only coming out when needed, Anubis is one of the djinns more shrouded in mystery, much like a few other djinns of that nomadic group.
Nonetheless, as all prophecies foretell, there was a time where the planets aligned and something rather amazing and odd all the same occurred. An overlapping of dimensions at the time caused for the djinn Anubis to be transported to the modern-day timeline of Earth, throwing an old-fashioned mythical being into something far different than the usual. Now, with remaining power over fire but an alienation to almost everything, this djinn must learn to survive in this new world or face the consequences alone.
