JEDCEST.COM UPDATE: First - if ANYONE has any potentially REAL contact information for Veritas hit me up. Now the news:

The site's suspension seems to be a payment related issue as it dropped on the 11th. Most webhosts want you to pay on the 1st of the month, allow 10 days for you to cover it and then drop it on the 11th and you get about a week or so more to pay before 'permanent suspension' is enforced which can mean any number of things, some hosts offer as much as a month for recovery so here's hoping it'll be a bit longer!

Osterhold said the site has dropped like this before for her and come back mysteriously - this makes me think it might indeed be a payment issue as when you pay the sites tend to come back up right away.

I contacted Veritas through the whois protection company which I hoped would be linked to her personal/real email but I have received no reply. I offered free hosting on my server (I have to keep it online because I host business websites of friends, family and clients) but didn't occur to me to just offer to pay.

Today I emailed hostgator (the email listed on the page) and explained that the site is a community and me and all members would be happy and grateful if they let us pay the bill. Hopefully they will say yes, so let's #prayercircle for that. I explained we do not want to hijack the account just have it up for when our friend (who didn't get back to us) becomes available again.

If it does come back, we can then run a backup either to my server with a new address or, my suggestion, to archiveofourown.org - in the past I had planned on doing a backup on there but I felt it was invasive/not needed. Thoughts?

In the worst of cases, if Hostgator refuse (which I hope they won't because I think they have like giftcards for hosting if I remember correctly) we could ask then for them to give us a backup of the site, which they migth also say no but let's not worry about that. Meanwhile I'll try to think up of other plans.
