You have power as a fan. You do! Honest!
And, believe it or not, that power does the MOST work when it's POSITIVE.

It's easy to go online and snark and moan. It's so easy that most post people who have the power to affect change block that stuff out. (Sometimes literally).

But when you SUPPORT something-- when you get POSITIVE buzz going-- that really is when you CAN make a difference.

Through aggressive letter writing campaigns, the fans of SPIDER-GIRL kept that book going on for YEARS!

Through things like strong DVD sales, the fans of FIREFLY helped SERENITY reach the big screen.

But on the flip-side, the fans of H.E.A.T. who wanted to hurt sales of GREEN LANTERN in order to get Kyle replaced by Hal... achieved nothing. The ONLY reason Hal came back was because GL writer, Geoff Johns, was a big Hal fan and WANTED Hal back. All the campaigning from H.E.A.T. NEVER factored into it at all. Not one bit.

SPIDER-GIRL fans + positive energy ACHIEVED something.

FIREFLY fans + positive energy HELPED make the impossible possible.

H.E.A.T. + negative energy... just got lucky. In all honesty, they produced a lot of negative fan energy that just went to waste. Imagine all the GOOD that could have achieved if it were aimed at something in a POSITIVE way.

If there's a comic, book, movie, or show you LOVE-- ESPECIALLY if it's doing poorly in sales-- it could really use your help.

Support it soon, support it often, and find a way to use POSITIVE energy to be heard. It takes WAY MORE work than knee-jerk complaining. That's easy and-- in the end-- achieves NOTHING. Hell, most of the time it creates NEGATIVE buzz and that gets MORE people to actually check out the thing you DON'T like. (Seriously, I thank the heavens for all the NEGATIVE energy angry internet cranks gave ASM #700. That created GREAT buzz for that issue. I don't think it would have sold as well w/o it!)

Look, if you want your favorite comic or show to be around later, if you want that book or movie to get a sequel, go out there and SHOW YOUR LOVE! You get enough people behind you, you actually CAN get the result you want! Stay hopeful-- and stay POSITIVE! I know you can do it!
